The Council of EU Ministers of Health, chaired by Greek Health Minister Makis Voridis, is taking place in Luxembourg on 20 June 2014.

The main items on the Council’s agenda will be the legislative proposals on medical devices, and in vitro diagnostic medical devices. The Ministers will take note of the progress achieved during the Greek Presidency, followed by a policy debate. The Council is due to adopt conclusions on “the economic crisis and healthcare”, and “nutrition and physical activity”.

The Ministers will also be informed by the European Commission on the implementation of the Joint Plan for immediate actions under the existing medical devices legislation, and the Joint Procurement Agreement to procure medical countermeasures. At the end of the session a signing ceremony of the Joint Procurement Agreement will take place.

The Presidency will hold a Press Conference at +/- 13:30 (CET).
