“When every minute counts”: Seminar on cross border child alert cooperation in life threating cases of missing children

The Smile of the Child and the European Federation for Missing and Sexually Exploited Children “Missing Children Europe” co-organize in Athens the European Seminar “When every minute counts” in the framework of International Missing Children’s Day activities taking place across Europe around 25 May.

The objectives of this event is to raise awareness on the serious issue of missing children, as well as on available tools to help prevent and support families and children concerned, with particular focus on cross border cooperation between national stakeholders involved in child alert mechanisms across Europe.

More specifically, during this event that will be held under the auspices of the Hellenic Presidency of the Council of the EU, statistical data on missing children in Greece and abroad will be presented, as well as good practices, new initiatives in the area of prevention and Child alert systems and mechanisms across Europe.

High-level representatives, practitioners and experts in the area of missing children, public officials and representatives from law enforcement authorities and voluntary teams from Greece and abroad will participate to this event.
