Ministry of Foregin Affairs, Amphitheatro Giannos Kranidiotis, 1 Vas. Sofias Av. 106 71 Athens

The Network for Legislative Cooperation between the Ministries of Justice of the European Union (NLC-EU) will hold on 13 June its sixth annual meeting under the Greek Presidency. The Network was established by a Council Resolution of 28 November 2008 emphasising the need for Ministries of Justice to exchange information about the various legal and judicial systems in the Member States of the EU. This information has become essential for the drafting of legislation. It also promotes better understanding of the laws of the other Member States, thereby enhancing mutual trust and the application of the principle of mutual recognition. The meeting will take place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Giannos Kranidiotis Conference Hall) in Athens.

National correspondents will hear the annual report of the Network and discuss the development of the Νetworks’ website legicoop. Mr Vassilis Androulakis, Associate Counsilor to the Council of State and national correspondent of Greece at the NLC-EU, will present the reforms introduced by the Hellenic Ministry of Justice, Transparency and Human Rights aiming at reducing the case backlog in Administrative Justice. Furthermore, Mrs Jaana Pohjanmaki from the General Secretariat of the EU Council will analyse the e-Justice Action Plan for the years 2014-2018, while Mr Renatas Mazeika, representing the EU Commission, will refer to the financing opportunities of the e-Justice programme.
