"European Elections since 1979": a new temporary exhibition at the Parlamentarium

  • Photo:

How does your vote affect Europe? Find out how Europeans throughout history have used their vote to shape governance at "European Elections since 1979", a new temporary exhibition hosted by the Parlamentarium.

The exhibition invites you to recall the past of European elections through showcasing an abundant collection of election posters and television campaigns.

You can make yourself familiar with the evolution of Europe through colorful displays of facts and figures and are invited to participate in an interactive game of the 'Voting Table' in which every visitor has the chance to voice which topics they deem important during election time.

Over the past four decades, the European Parliament has transformed from a largely consultative assembly into a powerful co-legislator in the European Union -- a Union that has itself changed considerably in scope, powers and size.

By highlighting the key political issues at the respective periods, the exhibition celebrates the power of European citizenship and the right to vote.

"European Elections since 1979" will be exhibited from 10 March - 1 June 2014.
