In the framework of the Greek Presidency of the Council of Europe, the Ministry of the Environment, Energy and Climate Change (Directorate General for the Environment in collaboration with the Special Agency for the Coordination of Environmental Projects) is convening a meeting of EU Biodiversity and Nature Directors, on the 24th and 25th of April 2014 at the Titania Hotel in Athens. The meeting is organized by the competent authority for the conservation of biodiversity and nature of each Member State assuming the Presidency of the EU Council. During the meeting, the EU Nature Directors, the European Commission and stakeholders will discuss together on issues related to financing for biodiversity and implementation of EU Biodiversity Strategy to 2020. On the 25th of April participants will visit the Parnitha National Park where they will be informed by the Management Authority of the Park on conservation practices applied. The second day will be concluded by a closed session of EU Nature Directors, which is expected to lead to relevant suggestions.
