The Greek Health Minister Spyridon- Adonis Georgiadis visited Brussels on 3 December 2013 where he met with Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) in view of the upcoming Greek Presidency of the Council of the EU

The Greek Health Minister Spyridon- Adonis Georgiadis visited Brussels on 3 December 2013 where he met with Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) in view of the upcoming Greek Presidency of the Council of the EU.
 
The Health Minister met with Matthias Groote, President of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and discussed issues to be dealt with by the Health Council and the European Parliament in the course of the Greek Presidency. Furthermore, he held meetings and exchanged views with MEPs and rapporteurs with respective portfolios, including Dagmar Roth-Behrendt (medical devices), Peter Liese (in vitro diagnostics), Linda McAvan (tobacco products, fees for pharmacovigillance), Glenis Wilmott (clinical trials) and Antonyia Parvanova (transparency on medicines). 
 
Prior to the above meetings, Georgiadis met with Greek MEPs and discussed the priorities of the Greek Presidency in areas of public health, pharmaceutical and medical devices.
 
The Greek Presidency Health Priorities will be presented at the next EPSCO, on 10 December 2013.
