Tomorrow, 8 January, the Greek Presidency of the Council of the European Union for the first semester of 2014 is being officially inaugurated.

Α Research & Innovation kick-off event on the ‘Horizon 2020’ programme

‘Horizon 2020’, the new European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, will be presented by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT) at a special event organised in the framework of the Greek Presidency of the Council of the EU, on Friday, 10 January 2014, at the ‘Demokritos’  National Centre for Scientific Research.

The event is under the auspices of the President of the Hellenic Republic, Karolos Papoulias, who will attend it.

Greek Minister of Justice Charalampos Athanassiou at the EU - Western Balkans Forum

Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Kourkoulas participated at a joint press conference in Brussels, on 18 December, together with Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius, whose country is handing over the Presidency of the Council of the EU to Greece in 12 days.

Press Conference in Brussels

A press conference is taking place tomorrow (18 December 2013), at 14:00 (local time) in Brussels, at the Press Centre of the Justus Lipsius building of the Council, during which the Minister of Lithuania Linas Linkevicious will review the Lithuanian Presidency and Greece’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dimitris Kourkoulas will present the priorities of the Greek Presidency, commencing on 1 January 2014.
