Council, EP and Commission on the homestretch for the adoption of a regulation concerning information and promotion measures for agricultural products on the internal market and in third countries

Minister for Rural Development and Food, Athanasios Tsaftaris, in his capacity as chairman of the Council of EU Ministers for Agriculture, will participate today (1.4.2014) in a trilogue with the European Parliament and the European Commission aiming at reaching agreement on a regulation proposal concerning information and promotion measures for agricultural products on the internal market and in third countries.

AGRIFISH Council, Brussels, 24.03.2014

Agreement on agri-food promotion and information tools reached at AGRIFISH Council meeting held in Brussels, on 24.03.2014. The Council of Ministers gave the Greek Presidency the mandate for trilogue negotiations with the European Parliament.

The Agriculture and Fisheries Council meeting will take place in Brussels, on Monday 17 February 2014, starting at 10:00 (CET).  It will address mainly agricultural matters. The Council will be chaired by Greek Minister for Rural Development and Food, Athanasios Tsaftaris.

The Greek Presidency will present its work programme for Agriculture and Fisheries for its term in office.

Provisional Agreement on the financing of the new Common Fisheries Policy (28.1.2014)

The Council under Greek Presidency and the European Parliament reached a tentative agreement on the main outstanding issues concerning the proposal for a regulation on the European maritime and fisheries fund (EMFF) replacing the existing European fisheries fund (8883/13), during the informal trilogue meeting which took place in Brussels on 28 January.
